Our NEGA RESA Director of 6-12 Mathematics, Dr. Kelly Edenfield, had the pleasure of working with math teachers from Madison County Middle School and the Algebra Concepts and Connections teachers at Madison County High School to prepare for the upcoming school year. The PL sessions were designed to unpack Achievement Level Descriptors (ALDs) and consider new instructional ideas. Pictured, the ACC teachers are modeling the same active, inquiry-based learning that we will see implemented in their own classrooms.

📊✏️ Clarke County educators dug deep into assessment literacy during Demystifying GA Milestones: From Test Design to Classroom Practice, led by Let’s Read Georgia coaches Amy Godfrey and Courtney Kerlin.

During this professional learning session, teachers:

  • Reviewed recent changes to the GMAS assessment

  • Located key online instructional resources connected to GMAS

  • Built familiarity with GMAS rubrics and scoring practices

By strengthening understanding of assessment design and expectations, participants gained practical insight to better align instruction and support student success.

ELA Specialist and Let’s Read Georgia coach Jen Harper kicked off the Lit, Love, Read Campaign by reading with Kindergarten and 4th grade classrooms at Lake Oconee Academy in Greene County.

Our focus was clear: spark joy in reading, build rich language, and help students think deeply about the author, context, and purpose behind every text. ❤️📖

When we create meaningful reading experiences, we grow thoughtful, confident readers one story at a time.
